To maintain a musical standard that allows the ensemble to perform its repertoire with precision, the OJV requires a short audition for anyone wishing to join. The audition consists of three stages and lasts approximately 15 minutes.
The audition begins with a brief interview. The candidate must then present two musical excerpts: one melodic passage and one technical passage. In the case of a classical percussion audition—which includes several families of instruments—the candidate must prepare excerpts covering at least three categories: a keyboard percussion instrument (such as glockenspiel, marimba, or xylophone), timpani, and a skin-based instrument such as snare drum or drum set.
The audition also includes two short sight-reading exercises.
Please fill in the form and we will contact you to schedule an audition.
